Ankeny’s Availa Bank Announces New Hires
Ankeny, Iowa (July 9, 2019) – Availa Bank (“Availa”), is pleased to announce the hiring of three area banking veterans to serve the Ankeny community. Availa, which has Iowa roots dating back to 1870, opened their Ankeny location on June 24.
• Kevin Brooks was named regional president for the Ankeny, Ames and Nevada Availa locations. Brooks has 30 years of experience managing community banks across Iowa, most recently in Polk and Story Counties.
Brooks is currently or has previously served in local organizations, including the United Way of Central Iowa, Ankeny Chamber of Commerce, the Iowa State University Alumni Association, the Iowa Bankers Association board of directors and the State Banking Council.
• Scott Henry was named senior vice president for the Ankeny and Ames Availa locations. Henry also has 30 years of banking experience.
Active in his community, Henry serves as a board member for the Altoona Planning and Zoning Commission and as DART commission member for the City of Altoona. He is also active in Dollars for Scholars and the Booster Club for Southeast Polk.
• Pat Romig was named vice president loan officer for the Ankeny Availa location. Romig brings 26 years of banking experience and a strong commitment to the Ankeny community.
Romig currently serves as a board member for iJAG (Jobs for American Graduates) and is a youth football coach and a skeet coach for the Ankeny High School Skeet Shooting team. In his spare time, he teaches financial literacy through various local nonprofits.
