Availa Bank Announces New Council Bluffs Market President
Matt Saar, a native to the Council Bluffs area, will be taking over the role.
Council Bluffs, Iowa (February 17, 2022) – Availa Bank is proud to announce the hiring of Matt Saar as the new Council Bluffs Market President. Saar will be taking over the role from Matt Gronstal, who will stay involved in Availa Bank through his current position as a member of the Board of Directors.
As the Council Bluffs Market President, Saar will provide leadership and direction for the Council Bluffs locations in all departments.
Saar has over eight years of experience in banking and leadership roles, most recently holding the title of Ag and Business Banking Team Leader. He was born and raised in the Treynor/Council Bluffs area and graduated from Treynor High School. He then attended Iowa State University to get his Bachelor of Science degree. Saar previously completed the Iowa Bankers Association Ag Credit School and will graduate from The Graduate School of Banking at Colorado later this year.
Saar is heavily involved in the Council Bluffs and Treynor communities, serving as a chair on the Council Bluffs Chamber of Commerce Ag Committee, treasurer of the Westfair Livestock Sale Committee, board member of the Pottawattamie Conservation Foundation, member of the Impact CB Executive Committee, and as a city council member for the City of Treynor.
Saar currently lives in Treynor with his wife, Beth, and their sons, Benjamin and Cameron. Outside of work, Saar likes to golf, bike, follow the Iowa State Cyclones, attend his children’s events, and spend time with family and friends.
