Local Bank Announces Name Change, Now Availa Bank
Carroll, Iowa — Carroll County State Bank announced today that it is changing its name to Availa Bank. The bank is proud to announce that while the name is changing to increase recognition among its multiple markets across western and northern Iowa, it is still under the same ownership. The bank will have the same people, the same locations and the same commitment to customers and the communities they serve.
Prior to its name change, Availa Bank operated as a network of financial institutions in the region under different names, but all owned by Carroll County State Bank. To strengthen the relationship and efficiencies between these institutions and to reduce confusion for customers and employees, all banks owned by Carroll County State Bank will now be known as Availa Bank.
The name Availa was chosen from the first three syllables of the word available, a word that defines the bank’s mission — to always be available to its customers, communities and employees with competitive products and responsive service.
“We are proud to be a part of this community, and we are excited to elevate our presence to provide our customers easier access to a larger network of financial institutions,” said Jeff Scharfenkamp, Availa Bank President & CEO. “We are still a community bank with local decision makers, and we are excited to develop new relationships in the communities we serve.”
